Position Summary The Director of Food & Beverage is responsible for the overall leadership, management, and profitability of all food and beverage operations at a KemperSports-managed golf club. This includes the clubhouse Bar & Grille, banquet and event operations, golf outing food and beverage services, beverage cart operations, concessions (if applicable), and all related food and beverage programming. This hands-on leadership role is responsible for delivering exceptional hospitality experiences for members, guests, tournament participants, and event clients while maintaining high standards of quality, service, cleanliness, and financial performance. The Director of Food & Beverage works closely with the General Manager, Executive Chef, Golf Operations, and Sales/Event teams to ensure seamless execution of daily operations and special events. Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesLeadership & Operations Direct and oversee all daily food and beverage operations. Recruit, hire, train, schedule, supervise, and develop front-of-house food and beverage staff. Foster a positive, team-oriented culture focused on hospitality, accountability, and continuous improvement. Ensure exceptional guest service standards are consistently delivered throughout all outlets. Maintain compliance with KemperSports operating standards, local health regulations, liquor laws, and safety policies. Bar & Grille Management Oversee all clubhouse dining and bar operations. Develop service standards that enhance the member and guest experience. Collaborate with the Executive Chef on menu development, promotions, and seasonal offerings. Monitor food quality, beverage presentation, and overall guest satisfaction. Analyze sales trends and recommend strategies to increase revenue and guest engagement. Banquets & Special Events Oversee execution of weddings, corporate outings, golf tournaments, social events, and member functions. Coordinate staffing, setup, service, and event logistics with the culinary and events teams. Ensure banquet operations consistently exceed client expectations. Assist with planning and execution of club-sponsored events and holiday functions. Golf Outings & Beverage Cart Operations Manage all food and beverage aspects of golf outings and tournaments. Coordinate pre-round meals, on-course food stations, beverage service, post-event receptions, and awards banquets. Supervise beverage cart operations, including staffing, inventory, merchandising, and service standards. Work collaboratively with Golf Operations to ensure seamless event execution. Financial Management Monitor daily sales, labor costs, beverage costs, and operating expenses. Analyze financial performance and implement strategies to maximize profitability. Control inventory levels and oversee purchasing while minimizing waste and loss. Review financial reports and prepare recommendations for operational improvements. Inventory & Compliance Oversee purchasing, receiving, inventory control, and vendor relationships. Ensure accurate inventory counts and cost controls. Maintain all required food safety and alcohol service certifications. Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local health and liquor regulations. Qualifications Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive food and beverage management experience, preferably in a golf club, country club, resort, hotel, or hospitality environment. Previous experience managing multiple food and beverage outlets and banquet operations. Strong knowledge of restaurant operations, beverage programs, catering, and event execution. Experience managing labor costs, inventory, and financial reporting. Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and point-of-sale systems. ServSafe Food Manager and Alcohol Service Certification (or ability to obtain). Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds. Ability to work in both indoor and outdoor environments, including on the golf course during outings and tournaments.
