Full-Time Job Summary:
Oxford Athletic Club is the most extensive private health and fitness club in the Pittsburgh area and is nationally recognized by International Health, Racquet, and Sports Associations (IHRSA) for excellence. We are currently looking for a Café Supervisor who is responsible for assisting in the management and operation of the café within the health club. This role involves supporting the café supervisor in daily tasks, ensuring excellent customer service, maintaining cleanliness and safety standards, and assisting with inventory management. The assistant will also help in coordinating with other departments to enhance the overall member and guest experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Café
Operations Support:
Assist in the daily operations of the café, ensuring a smooth and efficient service. Help implement and adhere to café policies and procedures. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the café area.
Staff Support and Training:
Support the café supervisor in training new staff members. Assist in scheduling staff shifts and ensuring proper coverage during operating hours. Foster a positive team environment and provide guidance to staff as needed.
Customer Service:
Ensure that all members and guests receive excellent service. Address customer inquiries and concerns in a professional and timely manner. Promote a welcoming and friendly atmosphere within the café.
Inventory and Stock Assistance:
Assist in managing inventory, including monitoring stock levels and ordering supplies. Help receive and organize deliveries. Support efforts to control food and beverage costs and minimize waste.
Quality Control and Compliance:
Assist in ensuring all food and beverages meet health and safety regulations and standards. Help conduct regular inspections to maintain hygiene and cleanliness. Stay informed about industry trends and best practices in food safety and customer service.
Administrative Support:
Assist in maintaining accurate records of sales, inventory, and staff schedules. Help prepare and submit reports on café performance as required. Assist with staff schedule as needed Assist with payroll as needed Assist with cash handling and reconciliation processes.
Collaboration and Coordination:
Work closely with other health club departments to coordinate events and promotions. Support overall health club activities by promoting the café's services and products. Provide assistance in other areas of the health club as needed, demonstrating flexibility and teamwork. Participate in MOD program
Qualifications:
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Experience:
Minimum of 2-3 year of experience in the food and beverage industry, preferably in a café or health club setting.
Skills:
Strong customer service skills, good communication and interpersonal abilities, basic knowledge of inventory management and point-of-sale (POS) systems, and understanding of food safety and hygiene standards.
Personal Attributes:
Customer-focused, proactive, organized, and able to handle multiple tasks efficiently.
Working Conditions:
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed. Physical stamina to stand for long periods and perform manual tasks such as lifting and carrying items.
