FOOD & BEVERAGE SHIFT LEAD
Position Summary The Food & Beverage Shift Lead is a hands-on leader who helps ensure each shift runs smoothly and that members and guests receive exceptional service. This position works alongside the Food & Beverage team while providing direction, support, and leadership throughout the shift. The Shift Lead plays an important role in creating a welcoming experience for Club members and guests helping ensure their needs are anticipated and service is seamless from arrival through departure. Responsibilities Lead and support the Food & Beverage team during assigned shifts. Conduct or assist with pre-shift meetings and communicate daily priorities, reservations, events, and special requests. Assign sections and shift responsibilities and help ensure the team is prepared for service. Monitor the flow and quality of service throughout the shift. Provide friendly, attentive, and personalized service to members and guests. Help create an exceptional dining experience during lunch, dinner, and special events. Pay particular attention to lodging guests, helping ensure their dining and Food & Beverage experiences are comfortable, welcoming, and well coordinated. Respond to member and guest needs and assist with resolving concerns. Look for opportunities to personalize the experience, celebrate special occasions, and create memorable moments for members and guests. Coach and support employees while reinforcing Club service standards. Work closely with the kitchen, lodging team, and other departments to ensure smooth service and communication. Ensure dining areas, bars, and service areas are clean, organized, and properly stocked. Assist with opening and closing procedures, side work, and shift responsibilities. Support tournaments, member events, dinners, and special functions as needed. Communicate important information, member and guest feedback, and operational concerns to management. Lead by example through a positive attitude, professionalism, and strong work ethic. What We're Looking For Previous food & beverage, restaurant, hospitality, or private-club experience preferred. Previous leadership or supervisory experience is a plus. Ability to work effectively as part of a team while also taking initiative. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. A genuine interest in providing exceptional member and guest service. Ability to remain calm, organized, and positive in a busy environment. Comfortable working evenings, weekends, holidays, tournaments, dinners, and special events. Excellent interpersonal skills with a professional demeanor suited for an exclusive private club environment. Experience with POS systems and basic operational technology used in foodservice settings. Knowledge of shift management practices within a hospitality or restaurant context. Familiarity with food safety management standards and protocols. Ability to manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail. The ideal candidate is hands-on, personable, dependable, and service-minded. They naturally take ownership of the shift, enjoy helping others succeed, and pay attention to the small details that make a member or guest feel welcomed and valued. They understand that at a private club, exceptional hospitality goes beyond serving a meal. It means knowing the guest, anticipating their needs, and helping create a memorable experience throughout their time at the Club.
