Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Front of House Shift Lead to join our dynamic hospitality team. In this pivotal role, you will oversee daily front-of-house operations, ensuring exceptional customer service, smooth shift management, and efficient food and beverage delivery. As a leader on the floor, you will motivate staff, uphold food safety standards, and maintain a welcoming environment that keeps guests coming back. Your proactive approach and management skills will drive the success of each shift, fostering a vibrant team atmosphere and delivering memorable guest experiences. Responsibilities Supervise front-of-house team members during shifts, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure high standards of service. Manage customer interactions with professionalism and enthusiasm, resolving issues promptly to guarantee satisfaction. Oversee food preparation and presentation to ensure quality control aligns with restaurant standards. Operate POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS for order processing, cash handling, and transaction accuracy. Monitor inventory levels of food and beverages, assisting with stock control and ordering to prevent shortages or waste. Enforce food safety protocols and sanitation procedures in compliance with health regulations. Lead shift opening and closing procedures, including cash reconciliation, report generation, and team debriefs. Support kitchen management by coordinating between front-of-house and culinary teams to optimize service flow. Conduct staff training sessions on customer service excellence, food handling, POS operation, and safety practices. Assist in managing budgets, analyzing profit and loss reports, and implementing cost-control measures to maximize profitability. FOH Shift Leads also maintain a section. Experience Proven experience in quick service or fast food restaurant environments with a strong background in food preparation and customer service. Demonstrated leadership in supervising hospitality teams or managing restaurant shifts effectively. Familiarity with POS systems such as TouchBistro POS, Aloha POS or Micros POS is essential for transaction processing. Experience in casual dining settings is preferred; banquet or catering experience is a plus. Knowledge of food safety management practices and food industry regulations is required. Previous roles involving kitchen management, food production oversight, or hospitality management are highly desirable. Strong communication skills with the ability to train staff, handle customer concerns, and coordinate team efforts seamlessly. Basic math skills for cash handling, inventory control, budgeting analysis, and profit calculations are necessary.
