Position Summary The Shift Lead runs the floor when the General Manager isn't on-site, making sure every shift hits our standards for speed, food quality, safety, and guest experience. This is a hands-on leadership role — you'll be coaching the crew one minute and jumping on the line the next. Key Responsibilities Open or close the restaurant following checklist procedures (equipment start-up/shutdown, prep levels, cash drawers, cleaning and sanitation) Assign stations and manage crew flow throughout the shift to hit speed-of-service and food quality targets Enforce food safety and sanitation standards — proper temperatures, labeling, handwashing, and health code compliance Handle guest concerns on the floor and resolve service issues on the spot Monitor inventory and par levels during the shift; flag shortages before they become problems Handle cash management duties — register counts, deposits, and drawer reconciliation Train and coach team members on portioning, procedures, and guest service Jump into any station — line, register, prep, or dish — as needed to keep service moving Enforce uniform, appearance, and safety standards Report equipment issues, maintenance needs, or safety concerns to the General Manager Support labor management — clock-ins/outs, break scheduling, and adherence to labor targets during the shift What We're Looking For Previous restaurant or quick-service experience, ideally as a shift lead, key-holder, or similar Food handler certification (or willingness to obtain one) Ability to stand and move for a full shift, and lift up to 30-50 lbs in a fast-paced kitchen environment Strong communication skills and a level head under pressure Comfortable handling cash and basic math for register reconciliation Flexible availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays A team-first attitude and genuine care for the guest experience What Überrito Offers Health insurance 401(k) plan Free shift meal Paid vacation Real advancement potential in a growing company Benefits may vary by franchise location.
