JOB SUMMARY
The Freeze-Dried Supervisor leads our team for success across our Freeze Dry department. They are responsible for ensuring safe, efficient processing of products while meeting quantitative and qualitative standards for production output, health and safety, HACCP, GMP, sanitation and product quality.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Foster positive employee relations through coaching, development, and participation in employment decisions.

Balance quality, productivity, cost, safety, and morale to achieve departmental goals.

Track and report key performance measures and maintain accurate production documentation.

Maintain basic knowledge of freezedrying, production, and packaging operations.

Manage staffing levels, scheduling, shift assignments, and workforce planning.

Lead continuous improvement efforts to enhance quality, efficiency, and reduce rework or product damage.

Delegate tasks, troubleshoot operational issues, and implement corrective actions.

Ensure timely, accurate production reporting, including weights and lot traceability.

Collaborate with other departments and support handson work when needed.

Provide training to ensure safe work practices, proper equipment use, and compliance with safety standards.

Enforce sanitation, product handling, and workplace safety procedures.

Assist with newhire orientation and maintain regular communication with employees.

Promote a positive, professional work environment and model appropriate behavior.

Apply company policies consistently; escalate unresolved employee issues as necessary.

Organize schedules, lead daily huddles and monthly meetings, and maintain attendance records.

Manage payroll review, employee evaluations, oneonones, disciplinary actions, and incident reporting.

Input daily production reports into inventory systems.

Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, quality standards, SQF, FDA GMPs, and all safety practices.

Perform additional duties as assigned.
Requirements:
2+ years leadership experience in manufacturing; food manufacturing preferred.
Preferred:
Degree in Business, Operations, Engineering, or related field; mechanical aptitude a plus.

Knowledge of HACCP and GMPs.

Proficient in basic Microsoft Office.

Strong organizational, leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Selfmotivated with strong problemsolving abilities.

Able to prioritize and adapt to changing production needs.

Skilled in delegating, supervising, evaluating, and motivating teams.

Team-oriented with strong planning and execution abilities.

Able to maintain records and produce clear, concise documentation.
SAFETY REQUIREMENTS INCLUDE
Comply with the Environmental Health Safety & Security (EHS&S) policies and applicable regulatory and company EHS&S rules and requirements.

Report to supervision conditions or practices that are either unsafe or that may adversely impact the environment, to ensure prompt resolution of potential hazards.

Attend scheduled EHS&S training program.

Actively support the organizations efforts to meet or exceed EHS&S goals and plans.

Recommend improved EHS&S practices. Practices safe work habits and follows general safety procedures such as proper lifting and bending, ergonomics, proper use of equipment and use of personal protection equipment (PPE).Adheres to and ensures lockout procedures are followed any time the equipment is being cleaned or maintained.
PRODUCT SAFETY AND QUALITY
Place high priority on food safety, quality, and sanitation by understanding and executing Thrive Freeze Drys food safety, quality, and sanitation policies and procedures. Hold self and others accountable to Thrive Freeze Dry food safety, quality, & sanitation guidelines and policies by communicating any food safety or quality incident, observation, or opportunity to your leadership team or teammates. Adheres to and ensures Product Safety and Quality standards are followed. Adheres to and ensures GMPs regarding food contact packaging as it pertains to the employee. Adheres to and ensures Thrives food safety, product defense standards and quality objectives complies with all SQF system requirements.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to perform the following functions with or without accommodations:

Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks.

The ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.

Ability to occasionally work varied shiftsMust be able to wear and use the required personal protective equipment (PPE) including safety shoes, hairnets, beard snoods (if applicable), smocks, and other safety gear as needed to maintain hygiene and safety standards.

Frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; frequent stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling; and some fine finger dexterity. The job is performed under occasional temperature variations and in a food manufacturing production environment.
