Job Description

Back of House Shift Leader — Be the Pulse of the Kitchen At Chick-fil-A Cooper Point and Capital Mall, we know that great service starts behind the scenes. As a Back of House (BOH) Shift Leader, you'll guide our kitchen team through each shift with clarity, care, and confidence. You'll be responsible for leading the team in real time — ensuring top-tier food quality, clean and safe operations, and a positive, encouraging atmosphere. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone ready to coach, support, and keep the kitchen running smoothly. What You'll Be Doing:
Shift Leadership & Team Development Lead and supervise the kitchen team throughout each shift Delegate tasks effectively and manage workflow for efficiency Offer real-time coaching, direction, and feedback to help team members succeed Address performance issues with care and professionalism Promote a positive, team-oriented culture where everyone feels valued Identify and encourage future leaders within the team Operational Excellence Ensure every food item meets Chick-fil-A's quality and presentation standards Oversee kitchen safety, sanitation, and cleanliness throughout the shift Be hands-on and knowledgeable in all kitchen stations (breading, preparation, fryers, dishwashing) Support inventory checks and report any supply issues or equipment concerns Collaborate with Front of House Shift Leaders to maintain smooth, timely servic Guest Experience Support Ensure quick, accurate, and safe food preparation during all meal periods Help minimize guest wait times through efficient kitchen operations Support the team in resolving any food-related guest concerns Encourage a sense of purpose and pride in preparing food that brings joy Financial Stewardship Minimize waste through smart prep levels and portioning Implement efficient practices that maintain quality and speed Identify small improvements that can make a big impact on operations and costs Ensure proper use and maintenance of equipment to prevent unnecessary expenses
Qualifications & Skills:
Previous leadership experience in a fast-paced kitchen or quick-service restaurant preferred Strong knowledge of food prep, kitchen flow, and safety standards Clear communicator who can coach, correct, and encourage effectively Dependable, team-first mindset with a passion for helping others succeed Positive, servant-hearted, and calm under pressure Excellent problem-solving and multitasking skills Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus
Availability Requirements:
Must be available to work peak hours, including early mornings, evenings, or Saturdays Flexible scheduling is available, but team needs may vary week to week
