Shop Associate/Eco-Tour Guide Pay :
$16-18/hr, depending on experienceHours:
7 hrs/day, 5 days/week (must be available weekends, holidays) Paddle! The Florida Keys is the highest rated kayak/SUP rental and tour shop in the Upper Keys. We are most well known for our 5 star guided Eco-Tours through the beautiful mangrove creeks right off our on-site launch. Our location is unmatched, on Tavernier Creek where guests frequently encounter a large variety of wildlife. We are looking for someone who is passionate about paddling, the environment, and guest experience.Shop Associate responsibilities:
- Greeting and assisting customers as they come in
- Operating a POS system
- Checking in guests for tours or rentals
- Brief guests on safety and paddling routes based on conditions
- Equipment and shop maintenance
- Deliver kayak and paddleboard rentals Paddle Tour Guide responsibilities:
- Help guests prepare for tour, ensure they have all necessary equipment, and launch guests on time
- Begin with a paddling/safety lesson prior to launching
- Lead up to 12 paddlers through mangrove creeks for 2 hours
- Keep guests on safe, easiest paddling route by reading the conditions and giving them instructions
- Spotting, pointing out, and educating guests on various wildlife like manatees, nurse sharks, birds, jellyfish, etc
- Return with guests on time and assist them as they return to the launch Minimum qualifications and skills:
- Customer service experience
- Intermediate to Advanced paddler, Kayak or Paddleboard
- Friendly, outgoing personality
- Enjoys the outdoors, working in the heat/sun and on the water
- Professional, strong work ethic
