Mauna Kea Sunset & Stargazing Tour Guide -

Kona Starting Pay:

$35/hour + 100% of your tips. Tips can be a significant part of your total earnings. Guides may receive $100+ in tips on many nights, and strong nights can sometimes reach $200-$300+. All tips go directly to the guide. Tips vary by tour and are not guaranteed. We are hiring friendly, reliable, and motivated guides for Mauna Kea Sunset & Stargazing Tours departing from Kona.

Responsibilities:

Safely drive and assist guests throughout the tour; lead sunset and stargazing experiences; share information about Mauna Kea, astronomy, geology, Hawaiʻi, and local culture; set up and operate telescopes, cameras, and other tour equipment; help guests with photos; keep company vehicles and equipment clean and organized.

Requirements:

Friendly and comfortable speaking with guests; reliable and punctual; clean driving record; comfortable driving at night and on mountain roads; comfortable working outdoors in cold, windy, high-altitude conditions; available for afternoon, evening, and nighttime shifts; willing to learn Mauna Kea and astronomy knowledge; able to handle and set up tour equipment. Previous tour guide, hospitality, astronomy, photography, or customer-service experience is a plus. Training is provided. Please apply with your resume and availability.
