The New York Power Authority is an equal opportunity employerSummary This is a part time role within the Niagara Power Vista supporting a 7 day a week operation. Applicants must have availability to work weekends and holidays as well as fill in to cover for absences when necessary. Responsibilities Under general supervision, directs special and technical groups through Authority plants and visitors centers to provide information on the Authority and its energy sources through tours, lectures and/or demonstrations; and represents the Authority at outside events. Tour guides will also be assigned to perform basic routine maintenance in order to setup and/or disassemble portable exhibitory as needed during off-site presentations. Assists in training tour guides. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Must be able to provide tours for large groups and should have an interest in science and historyEducation, Experience and Certifications Must possess High School diploma and minimum five years experience in related communications, public contact or educational/community service employment or equivalent, excellent communication and presentation skills, and ability to function well under pressure. Physical Requirements Must be able to staff Power Vista exhibits and facilitate tours for large groups throughout the multi-level Niagara Power Vsta..Military Occupational Specialty CodesMOS•

Hourly rates for union-represented employees are collectively bargained by the New York Power Authority and IBEW. The negotiated pay rate for this position is $23.66 per hour.
