Position Summary Reliance One, Inc. is hiring a friendly, enthusiastic, and engaging Museum Docent for one of our trusted clients in the automotive industry. The Museum Docent will help create an exceptional experience for visitors at a large automotive museum and experience center in Plano, Texas. This position will welcome guests, conduct tours, answer questions, assist with exhibits and special events, and help ensure the facility remains welcoming and ready for visitors. This is a highly interactive position that is ideal for someone who enjoys meeting new people, public speaking, and creating memorable experiences for guests . The facility is approximately 44,000 square feet , so candidates should be comfortable spending much of their shift walking throughout the museum and interacting with visitors. What You'll Be Doing Welcome visitors and create a friendly, positive first impression Assist guests throughout the museum and answer questions Conduct engaging tours for visitors, VIPs, and special groups Speak confidently to both small and large groups Provide information about exhibits and help visitors navigate the facility Support special events and group visits Assist museum staff with daily operational needs Complete opening and closing procedures Turn exhibits and displays on and off as required Help maintain a clean, organized, and professional museum environment Perform light cleaning and general facility support as needed Follow established museum procedures and processes Adapt to changing visitor needs, schedules, and special events Collaborate with other team members to provide an excellent guest experience Qualifications Excellent verbal communication skills Comfortable speaking and presenting to both small and large groups Friendly, personable, and welcoming demeanor Positive and enthusiastic attitude Strong customer service skills Ability to remain flexible and adapt to changing situations Ability to follow established directions, procedures, and processes Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills Professional and neat appearance Ability to spend significant portions of the workday standing and walking throughout a large facility Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends for special events Preferred Qualifications Automotive industry experience Interest in automobiles or automotive history Previous museum, hospitality, tourism, customer service, or guest experience Previous tour guide or public speaking experience Bilingual or multilingual abilities are a plus, particularly: Spanish Japanese American Sign Language (ASL) Ideal Candidate We're looking for someone who genuinely enjoys interacting with people . The ideal Museum Docent is enthusiastic, approachable, curious, and comfortable starting conversations with visitors. You should enjoy sharing information, answering questions, and helping guests have a memorable experience. An interest in cars is certainly a plus, but an outgoing personality, excellent communication skills, and a passion for providing great customer service are just as important.
