The Room Service Server plays a key role in delivering exceptional in-room dining experiences consistent with Forbes Four-Star standards. This position is responsible for providing professional, prompt, and courteous service while ensuring accuracy, presentation, and attention to detail in every order. The ideal candidate demonstrates genuine hospitality, a strong understanding of fine dining etiquette, and the ability to anticipate guest needs. Working collaboratively with the culinary and service teams, the Room Service Server upholds the highest levels of service excellence, maintaining the property's reputation for luxury and personalized care.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Answer in-room dining calls promptly, courteously, and with polished professionalism. Accurately record guest orders and ensure all details and special requests are clearly communicated to the culinary team. Maintain complete knowledge of all menus, including daily specials, seasonal offerings, and ingredient details. Demonstrate a strong working knowledge of the wine list and all beverage selections, including spirits, beer, wines by the glass, after-dinner drinks, non-alcoholic beverages, and coffee and tea service. Operate the Micros POS system accurately and efficiently. Deliver orders to guest rooms with timeliness, elegance, and attention to presentation standards. Maintain a professional and respectful demeanor toward guests and colleagues at all times. Collaborate effectively with fellow team members and assist as needed to ensure seamless service. Consistently demonstrate a positive attitude and commitment to guest satisfaction. Uphold all safety and sanitation standards and promote a safe working environment. Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor or manager.
QUALIFICATIONS
Solid understanding of food and beverage service principles. Ability to multitask and remain composed in a high-paced environment. Personable, engaging, and able to create a warm guest experience. Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Must be legally eligible to work in the United States. Must meet legal age requirements for serving alcoholic beverages.
EDUCATION
High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs. Ability to stand, walk, and move continuously for extended periods. Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Must communicate clearly and professionally in English with guests, management, and coworkers. Additional language skills are a plus.
CERTIFICATES & LICENSES
Valid Food Handler Certificate required. RBS Certificate
WORK ENVIRONMENT
The work environment at Bernardus Lodge ranges from winter time lows of 20 degrees to summer time highs to 100+ degrees.
