Duties Greet guests warmly and guide them through the menu, highlighting sushi options, beverages, and specials. Take accurate food and beverage orders using POS systems processing of sales transactions. Serve food and drinks efficiently, including sushi, cocktails, spirits, wine, and other beverages, maintaining high standards of presentation and sanitation. Upsell menu items to enhance guest experience and increase sales by recommending pairings like wine or specialty cocktails. Manage cash handling responsibilities accurately while processing payments via POS systems like OpenTable or other platforms. Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in compliance with food safety regulations; assist with food handling and basic food preparation when needed. Foster positive guest relations by providing attentive service, addressing questions about menu items, and resolving concerns promptly to ensure satisfaction. Requirements Previous experience in food service or restaurant environments is highly preferred; fine dining or sushi restaurant experience is a plus. Proficiency with POS systems such as Aloha POS, Micros POS, or similar platforms; experience with OpenTable is advantageous. Strong knowledge of beverage service including cocktails, spirits, wine, and drink pairing techniques. Excellent customer service skills with a friendly attitude and ability to handle multiple tables efficiently. Good math skills for processing sales transactions accurately and managing cash handling responsibilities. Ability to work in a fast-paced setting while maintaining attention to detail; strong time management skills are essential. Knowledge of food safety standards, sanitation practices, and proper food handling procedures. Hospitality experience including serving in nightlife venues or clubs is beneficial but not required.
