Lunch Shift Servers - Daikokuya Torrance Daikokuya Torrance is looking for friendly and dependable Servers to join our front-of-house team for lunch shifts. Daikokuya has been serving authentic Japanese ramen in the Los Angeles area for more than 20 years. We are looking for team members who enjoy working with people, provide attentive service, and can stay organized in a busy restaurant environment. Restaurant experience is preferred, but we also welcome applicants who are motivated to learn and have a positive attitude. Shift Details (Please Read Before Applying) This position is for lunch shifts only. Lunch shift hours are approximately 11:00 AM to 3:30 PM , though the end time may run later depending on how busy the restaurant is. We currently serve lunch on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays . We are planning to add lunch service on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays in the near future, so we are only looking for applicants who are available to work those days once that expansion happens. Further down the road, we also plan to add Monday lunch service as well. Pay $17.00 per hour + tips Location Daikokuya Torrance 2589 Pacific Coast Hwy Torrance, CA 90505 About the Position As a Server at Daikokuya Torrance, you will be responsible for creating a welcoming dining experience for our guests while working closely with other front-of-house and kitchen team members. We are looking for someone who can provide friendly and efficient service while maintaining accuracy and professionalism during both regular and busy service periods. Server Responsibilities Welcome guests and provide friendly, attentive customer service Explain menu items and answer guest questions Take food and beverage orders accurately Enter orders correctly into the POS system Serve ramen, appetizers, rice dishes, beverages, and other menu items Check on guests throughout their meal and respond promptly to requests Communicate clearly with kitchen staff and other front-of-house team members Handle guest checks and payments accurately Prepare and reset tables before, during, and after service Maintain cleanliness and organization in the dining area Restock server stations, beverages, utensils, condiments, and other supplies Assist with opening and closing responsibilities Help with bussing, cleaning, trash removal, and other restaurant duties when needed Follow food safety, sanitation, alcohol-service, and workplace safety procedures Work together with the team to maintain smooth and efficient restaurant operations What We're Looking For The ideal candidate is: Friendly and professional with guests and coworkers Reliable and punctual Comfortable communicating with customers Able to follow instructions and restaurant procedures Able to multitask and stay organized Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment Able to remain calm and professional during busy periods Team-oriented and willing to help coworkers when necessary Comfortable standing and walking for extended periods Able to carry trays, dishes, and other items commonly required during restaurant service Willing to perform cleaning, bussing, restocking, and other general restaurant duties Able to maintain good personal hygiene and a professional appearance Willing to wear the required uniform and non-slip shoes Experience Previous restaurant, hospitality, or customer-service experience is preferred Server, host, cashier, or other front-of-house experience is a plus Japanese restaurant or ramen restaurant experience is especially helpful Applicants with limited restaurant experience are encouraged to apply if they are dependable, motivated, and willing to learn Required Certifications A valid California Food Handler Card is required, or you must be able to obtain one within the required timeframe. If your position involves serving alcoholic beverages, you must also have or obtain the required California RBS certification.
