Job Overview We are seeking a motivated and compassionate Dietary Aide/Server to join our team. In this role, you will assist in meal service, food preparation, and maintaining sanitation standards within a healthcare or senior living setting. Your enthusiasm and attention to detail will help create a positive dining experience for residents and patients while ensuring compliance with safety and dietary requirements. Duties Serve meals to residents or patients in accordance with their dietary needs and preferences Assist with food preparation, including basic cooking, portioning, and plating of meals Maintain cleanliness of kitchen and dining areas through proper sanitation and cleaning procedures Support the dietary department by bussing tables, clearing trays, and ensuring a tidy environment Adhere to food safety protocols, including proper handling of food and use of personal protective equipment (PPE) Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently during meal service and preparation Follow established procedures for manual handling and safe lifting practices to prevent injury Skills Prior assisted living or dietary aide experience preferred; food industry or culinary background is a plus Knowledge of food production, preparation, and serving techniques Familiarity with food safety standards such as JCAHO guidelines and sanitation practices Strong time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently Excellent customer service skills with the ability to work compassionately with geriatric patients or residents Ability to operate kitchen equipment safely and adhere to workplace safety protocols Basic math skills for portioning and inventory management Experience working in nursing homes, hospitals, or similar healthcare environments is highly desirable Ability to lift heavy objects safely while following proper lifting techniques Knowledge of nutrition principles relevant to senior care settings Join us in making a difference through nourishing our residents' well-being!
