POSITION SUMMARY

The primary purpose of your job position is to provide assistance in all dining functions as directed/instructed and in accordance with established dining policies and procedures. Quality customer service is a top priority for everyone at the Village.

RESPONSIBILITIES

As a busser/food runner in the Dining Department, you are delegated the administrative authority, responsibility, and accountability necessary for carrying out your assigned duties. Serve food in accordance with established portion control procedures As directed, clear plates, cups, and any used dishes from resident tables upon finishing their meals. Prepare meals to-go and deliver to apartments in a timely manner. Set up dining room for service Understand the dining room set up and table numbers Greet residents and guests with a smile and a friendly tone Walk guests to their assigned tables Work together with other team members to ensure residents are served in a timely manner Setup, stock, refill, and clean stations according to the opening and closing checklists Assist in dining serving operations in preparing food items Assist in daily or scheduled cleaning duties, in accordance with established policies and procedures Carry out garbage and keep work areas clean, dry and free of hazards

SPECIFIC EDUCATIONAL/VOCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

High School diploma or GED preferred Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language

Demonstrate excellent listening skills, seeking to understand before responding Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with staff, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/staff, and the general public Must have good working knowledge of food safety best practices Must have patience, tact, a cheerful disposition and enthusiasm, as well as the willingness to handle challenging residents/associates Must be able to communicate with the staff, and other department supervisors Must be willing to seek out new methods and be willing to incorporate them into existing practices. ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS & PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Must be able to move intermittently throughout the work day; may need to reach overhead, push/pull/lift objects, or ascend/descend stairs Must be able to push, pull, move, and/or lift a minimum of fifty (50) pounds. Will be subject to frequent interruptions. May be subject to call-backs during emergency conditions (e.g., severe weather, evacuation, post-disaster, etc.) Is subject to injury from falls, burns, from equipment, odors, etc., throughout the work day, as well as reactions from disinfectants and other air contaminants May be necessary to assist in the evacuation of residents during emergency situations
