This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to grow within the food industry while honing your hospitality skills. Duties Greet guests warmly and present menus with enthusiasm, providing detailed descriptions of dishes and drinks. Take accurate food and beverage orders using POS systems such as Toast. Serve food and beverages promptly while maintaining high standards of presentation and cleanliness. Process sales transactions efficiently, including cash handling, credit card processing, and tip management. Upsell menu items like specialty cocktails, wines, or desserts to enhance guest satisfaction and increase sales. Maintain knowledge of food safety standards, sanitation procedures, and proper food handling techniques. Assist with bussing tables, cleaning workstations, and supporting team members to ensure smooth service flow. Provide exceptional guest relations by addressing questions, resolving concerns promptly, and ensuring a welcoming environment. Support beverage service with spirits knowledge, cocktail preparation skills, and wine recommendations for an elevated experience. Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely delivery of orders and adherence to food industry standards. Experience Previous food service experience in a fast-paced restaurant or hospitality setting is preferred. Familiarity with POS systems such as Toast desirable. Experience with fine dining or upscale restaurant environments is a plus. Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage guests positively and professionally. Knowledge of wine, spirits, cocktail preparation, and beverage service techniques. Ability to manage multiple tables efficiently through excellent time management skills. Basic math skills for processing payments accurately and handling sales transactions confidently. Experience in food safety procedures, sanitation practices, and proper food handling protocols.
