Restaurant Server — Great Dane Pub Job Summary Great Dane Pub is looking for experienced, dependable restaurant servers who genuinely enjoy taking care of guests. Located in downtown Royal Oak, Great Dane Pub is a modern British pub offering elevated pub food, craft cocktails, wine and beer in a polished but comfortable atmosphere. We want our guests to receive the attentiveness and professionalism of an upscale restaurant without losing the warmth and personality of a neighborhood pub. At Great Dane Pub, servers are not simply order takers. They guide the guest experience, confidently explain our food and beverages, anticipate needs and work with the entire team to ensure every guest feels welcomed and cared for. The Great Dane Experience Every server is expected to help us consistently deliver our five baseline standards: A warm and genuine welcome Fast, attentive seating and service Drinks served promptly and correctly Hot food delivered hot and without unnecessary delay Clean tables, dining areas and restrooms We believe that when these fundamentals are handled properly, great hospitality naturally follows. Responsibilities Welcome guests promptly with warmth, confidence and professionalism Learn the menu thoroughly and describe food, cocktails, wine and beer accurately Ask questions, listen carefully and help guests make informed selections Take and enter orders accurately using the Toast POS system Communicate allergies, dietary restrictions and special requests clearly Serve beverages and food promptly while maintaining proper presentation Check back at the appropriate times without interrupting the guest experience Anticipate needs such as refills, condiments, additional beverages and check presentation Recommend appetizers, beverages, entrées and desserts in a helpful—not pushy—manner Monitor food quality and address problems before they become guest complaints Process cash and credit-card transactions accurately Pre-bus and reset tables while maintaining a clean, organized section Complete assigned opening, closing and side-work responsibilities Support hosts, bartenders, food runners, bussers, cooks and fellow servers during busy periods Follow all food-safety, sanitation and responsible alcohol-service requirements Treat guests, coworkers and managers with respect at all times What We're Looking For At least one year of recent full-service restaurant serving experience preferred Experience in an upscale-casual or high-volume restaurant is strongly preferred A warm, outgoing personality and polished professional demeanor Strong communication, organization and time-management skills Ability to manage multiple tables while maintaining attention to detail Confidence discussing food, cocktails, wine and beer A sense of urgency without appearing rushed or careless Dependability, punctuality and consistent attendance Willingness to accept coaching and follow established service standards Ability to remain composed and professional during busy shifts Ability to stand and walk throughout the shift and safely carry trays and service items Evening and weekend availability, particularly Friday and Saturday evenings Toast POS experience and alcohol-service certification are helpful but not required.
