About The Role As a Banquet Server in our Banquet / Catering department, you will play a key role in delivering outstanding guest experiences for weddings, corporate events, social gatherings, and other special functions. This hourly, full-time position is highly guest-facing and requires strong attention to detail, a professional demeanor, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. You will assist with event setup, service, and breakdown while upholding our standards of hospitality, safety, and cleanliness. What You'll Do Provide friendly, attentive, and professional service to all guests during banquets, meetings, and catered events Set up banquet rooms and event spaces according to event orders and diagrams, including tables, chairs, linens, place settings, and service stations Prepare and maintain beverage stations, buffet lines, and food displays ensuring they are fully stocked, clean, and visually appealing Serve plated meals, family-style service, or buffet service as directed, following proper serving and clearing techniques Deliver food and beverage items to guests in a timely manner, checking for accuracy and quality Clear tables and reset as needed throughout events, maintaining a clean and organized dining environment Monitor guest needs during events, promptly responding to requests and communicating special needs to supervisors or the culinary team Assist with setup and breakdown of meeting rooms, including water service, refreshments, and basic audiovisual setup as needed Follow all food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety guidelines, including proper handling of glassware, dishware, and serving equipment Coordinate with banquet captains, supervisors, and fellow team members to ensure seamless event execution Handle cash or payment transactions when required, following established procedures and controls Report any guest concerns, accidents, or incidents to management promptly and professionally Participate in pre-event briefings to understand event details, timelines, and special requirements Assist with post-event breakdown, including removing linens, flatware, glassware, and décor, and returning items to designated areas Maintain a neat, clean, and professional appearance in accordance with company uniform and grooming standards Support other food and beverage operations or departments as needed, based on business levels and management direction Qualifications Previous experience as a banquet server, restaurant server, or in a similar food and beverage role preferred but not always required Ability to communicate clearly and professionally in English, both verbally and in writing Strong customer service and hospitality skills with a positive, guest-focused attitude Ability to work well in a team environment and follow direction from supervisors and banquet captains Comfort with carrying trays, plates, and glassware and performing repetitive motions throughout a shift Physical ability to stand and walk for extended periods and to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 30-40 pounds as needed Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, based on event business levels Basic knowledge of food and beverage service standards, including proper table service etiquette and sequence of service Understanding of or willingness to learn food safety and sanitation practices (ServSafe or equivalent certification a plus) Reliable transportation and consistent punctuality for scheduled shifts and event call times Professional appearance and demeanor with strong interpersonal and communication skills Ability to remain calm and organized under pressure and adapt quickly to changing event needs and timelines Legal authorization to work in the country where the position is located High school diploma or equivalent preferred The pay range for this role is: 10.85 - 10.85 USD per hour(Hilton Garden Inn Billings)
