You ensure every plate lands at the right table, in the right order, at the right moment.
POSITION OVERVIEW
The Expo is one of the most operationally important positions in the restaurant. You work at the pass between the kitchen and the dining room, confirming that every plate is complete, accurate, and presentation-ready before it leaves the kitchen. You coordinate the timing of table deliveries so that full tables are served simultaneously, communicate clearly with both cooks and servers, and maintain the pace and flow of service throughout the night. This role demands attention to detail, calm under pressure, and strong communication.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
Stage and manage the expo pass during service, organizing tickets and tracking table order status Inspect every plate before it leaves the kitchen — verify accuracy, presentation, temperature, and completeness Coordinate multi-course and multi-table deliveries so plates arrive at the table together Communicate clearly and calmly with cooks on timing, modifications, and re-fires Communicate with servers on delays, modifications, and delivery timing Run food to tables and assist servers in identifying who ordered what Maintain cleanliness and organization at the pass throughout service Flag concerns about food quality or ticket accuracy to the chef immediately Assist with breakdown and cleaning of the expo area at the end of service
QUALIFICATIONS
Prior experience in a restaurant environment preferred — kitchen or floor Able to read and interpret POS tickets quickly and accurately Strong verbal communication skills in a fast-paced, loud environment Comfortable standing for an entire shift and moving quickly between kitchen and dining room Knowledge of common allergens and ability to identify potential issues on tickets
