A Waiter or Waitress takes orders and serves food and beverages to customers in restaurants. Answers customer questions about menu items, prepares checks and collects payment, and assists with clearing dishes and tables. May work in banquet or dining halls.
We are looking for a reliable, energetic, and team-oriented Food Runner to join our breakfast and lunch bistro. The Food Runner plays an essential role in keeping service running smoothly by delivering food from the kitchen to the dining room quickly, accurately, and with care. This is a hands-on support position that works closely with the kitchen, servers, and management team. The ideal candidate is organized, attentive to detail, comfortable working at a fast pace, and takes pride in helping create a seamless dining experience for our guests.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver food from the kitchen to the correct table promptly and accurately, ensuring dishes are presented properly. Work closely with servers and kitchen staff to coordinate the timing and flow of food throughout service. Review dishes for accuracy, presentation, and appropriate accompaniments before leaving the kitchen. Assist servers with clearing, resetting, running drinks, and other service-support tasks as needed. Maintain clean, organized service areas and ensure necessary plates, utensils, condiments, and other supplies are readily available. Communicate clearly with the kitchen team, servers, and management regarding order details, guest needs, or any issues that arise during service. Support opening, closing, and general restaurant-cleaning duties as needed.
Experience & Qualifications:
Previous restaurant, hospitality, or customer service experience preferred, but not required. Strong communication and teamwork skills with a positive, helpful attitude. Ability to work quickly and efficiently while maintaining attention to detail. Comfortable working on your feet and in a busy, fast-paced restaurant environment. Reliable, punctual, and willing to take initiative. Ability to remain calm and organized during busy service periods. Genuine interest in hospitality and contributing to a positive guest experience.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Ability to lift and carry trays, plates, and other items throughout the restaurant. Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Regularly required to reach with hands and arms and use hands to handle objects. Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and navigate stairs as needed. Ability to verbally communicate and hear in a busy restaurant environment.
Work Environment:
Fast-paced, team-oriented restaurant environment. Frequent movement between the kitchen, dining room, and service areas. Exposure to heat, cold, sharp equipment, spills, and varying noise levels.
