Breakfast Server Crowne Plaza Newark Airport - 3.7 Elizabeth, NJ Job Details Part-time $14.13 an hour 22 hours ago Benefits Referral program Qualifications Basic math Client rapport building English Making change Payment processing in food service Full Job Description We are seeking a dynamic, attentive, reliable, and results-driven Breakfast Server for our busy airport property with 260 guestrooms, 3,555 sq ft of meeting space, and a full-service restaurant to join our team. Perks Employee Referral Program We are looking for a competent Breakfast Server to take and deliver orders. You'll be the face of our restaurant and responsible for our customers' experiences. Food server responsibilities include ensuring our tables are clean and tidy when guests arrive, presenting menus and serving food and beverages. You need to be quick on your feet (literally and metaphorically) and have a polite and friendly attitude. We are a drug-free workplace and participate in E-Verify . What you will be doing Key Responsibilities (This list is not all-inclusive, and additional duties may be assigned as needed.) Greet guests promptly and warmly upon arrival. Prepare restaurant tables with special attention to sanitation and order Present menus, take orders, and serve food and beverages accurately and efficiently. Maintain knowledge of menu items, specials, and ingredients. Answer questions or make recommendations for complementary products Collaborate with other restaurant servers and kitchen/bar staff Respond to guest requests and resolve any service issues promptly, professionally, and with a positive attitude. Process payments accurately using POS system. Side-work, restocking, and restaurant opening/closing duties.
Requirements:
Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules (including Holidays and weekends) to reflect the business needs of the hotel. In addition, attendance at all scheduled training sessions and meetings is required. Must be reliable , punctual , and able to work early morning shifts , including weekends and holidays. Proven restaurant serving or waitering experience Must be able to communicate and understand English Basic math and cash handling skills. Patience and customer-oriented approach Excellent people skills with a friendly attitude Responsible and trustworthy High school diploma is a plus but not required Schedule Morning shifts (typically between 5:30 AM - 12:00 PM ) Weekends and holidays required based on hotel occupancy Friendwell Managed Hotels function twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year. As a part of the hospitality industry a hospitable service atmosphere must be maintained at all times. All employees are required to project a friendly, welcoming, and positive attitude.
