The Finchnest is a new, independently owned restaurant in Margaretville, NY, built around a simple idea: serve food and drinks we genuinely care about in a place where people feel comfortable, welcomed, and well taken care of. We are looking for a full-time Server to join our opening team. This is a five-day-per-week position, Wednesday through Sunday. Shifts begin promptly at 3:30 PM and generally end around 10:30 PM , although end times will vary depending on service and closing responsibilities. Night and weekend availability is required. The Role Our servers are responsible for much more than taking orders and delivering food. You will play an important role in shaping each guest's experience from the moment they sit down until they leave. We are looking for someone who is warm, attentive, organized, and genuinely enjoys taking care of people. The right person can remain friendly and composed under pressure, manage multiple priorities at once, communicate clearly, and notice the details that make good service feel effortless.
Servers will be expected to:
Provide warm, knowledgeable, attentive service throughout the guest experience Learn the food menu thoroughly, including ingredients, preparation, allergens, and daily changes Develop a strong working knowledge of our wine, beer, spirits, and cocktail program, including cocktail ingredients and recipes Accurately take and enter orders and communicate modifications, allergies, and special requests Manage multiple tables and priorities efficiently while maintaining attention to detail Communicate clearly and respectfully with fellow servers, bartenders, kitchen staff, management, and ownership Complete opening, running, and closing side work thoroughly and without requiring constant supervision Anticipate guest needs and address problems calmly and professionally Adapt when service does not go according to plan and work with the team to find solutions Maintain clean, organized, and properly stocked service areas Follow all restaurant policies and applicable food-safety, sanitation, and alcohol-service requirements Take ownership of assigned responsibilities and pride in the experience we provide our guests Who We're Looking For Ideally, you have at least two years of front-of-house restaurant experience . Experience in fine dining, upscale casual dining, or another service-focused restaurant is preferred. That said, experience isn't everything. We are willing to train someone who has the right attitude, work ethic, attention to detail, and genuine willingness to learn.

The Finchnest is closed on Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day. Physical Requirements This is an active restaurant position.
