In this dynamic role, you will be the first point of contact, welcoming guests with warmth and professionalism, managing reservations efficiently, and ensuring smooth table turnover. As a Food Runner, you will collaborate closely with the kitchen and service staff to deliver food promptly and accurately, maintaining the highest standards of hospitality and guest satisfaction. Responsibilities Greet guests warmly upon arrival, manage seating arrangements, and coordinate reservations using restaurant table management systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS. Maintain organized waitlists and efficiently manage guest flow to minimize wait times. Communicate clearly with guests regarding menu items, specials, and wait times via phone or in person, demonstrating excellent phone etiquette and communication skills. Assist servers by delivering food promptly from the kitchen to tables while ensuring accuracy and presentation standards are met. Support the restaurant team by maintaining cleanliness of host/guest areas and ensuring food safety protocols are followed. Handle reservation management tasks including modifications, cancellations, and confirming bookings to optimize guest experience. Collaborate with team members to uphold hospitality standards, guest relations, and overall restaurant operations. Requirements Previous experience as a host/hostess or in food service is preferred but not mandatory; enthusiasm for hospitality is essential. Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a busy environment. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a focus on friendly customer interactions. Familiarity with restaurant reservation management systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS is highly desirable. Basic math skills for handling reservations, bills, and POS transactions accurately. Knowledge of food safety standards and proper guest service etiquette. Ability to stand for extended periods and move quickly between tables or stations as needed.
