Responsibilities Greet guests warmly and guide them through the menu, offering recommendations and upselling where appropriate to enhance their experience. Take accurate food and beverage orders using POS systems such as SpotOn, ensuring all special requests are noted clearly. Serve food and drinks promptly, maintaining high standards of presentation, cleanliness, and safety in accordance with food handling and sanitation protocols. Process sales transactions efficiently, including cash handling, credit card processing, and managing tabs via POS systems like OpenTable or other restaurant software. Maintain knowledge of wine pairings, spirits, cocktail recipes, and beverage service techniques to provide expert guidance to guests. Assist with setting up tables, bussing dishes, and maintaining a clean dining area to promote a welcoming environment. Foster positive guest relations by addressing questions or concerns promptly and professionally to ensure a memorable dining experience. Qualifications Prior food service experience in restaurants or hospitality environments is highly preferred; fine dining or nightclub experience is a plus. Strong knowledge of POS systems. Demonstrated skills in customer service, upselling, and sales transactions processing. Ability to handle cash accurately and perform basic math calculations swiftly. Experience with food safety standards, sanitation practices, and proper food handling procedures. Excellent communication skills with a friendly attitude that promotes guest satisfaction. Culinary or beverage knowledge including wine expertise, spirits experience, cocktail preparation, and beverage service techniques. Ability to manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment while multitasking seamlessly across duties such as serving, bussing, and cleaning.
