Job Description
Omakase Server We are seeking a polished, hospitality-driven Omakase Server to join our fine-dining team. The ideal candidate has strong knowledge of Japanese cuisine, sushi, sake, wine, and elevated service standards. This position requires attention to detail, professionalism, and the ability to create a warm, personalized experience for every guest. Responsibilities Provide attentive, refined, and knowledgeable service throughout the omakase experience. Welcome guests professionally and explain the restaurant's concept, menu, and dining experience. Communicate each course clearly, including ingredients, preparation, and recommended way to enjoy the dish. Develop strong knowledge of sushi, Japanese ingredients, seasonal fish, sake, wine, spirits, and beverage pairings. Anticipate guest needs while maintaining discreet and unobtrusive service. Coordinate closely with the sushi chefs, kitchen, bar, and management to ensure proper timing and pacing. Properly handle allergies, dietary restrictions, and special requests and communicate them immediately to the chef and management. Perform proper wine and sake service, including bottle presentation, opening, pouring, and maintaining glassware. Maintain immaculate table settings, counter presentation, service stations, and dining areas. Accurately enter orders, process payments, and follow all POS procedures. Assist with opening and closing duties, polishing glassware and silverware, stocking, and general restaurant preparation. Build relationships with regular guests while maintaining professional boundaries and discretion. Follow all restaurant grooming, uniform, sanitation, and fine-dining service standards. Qualifications Previous fine-dining, omakase, sushi, or Japanese restaurant experience is strongly preferred. Candidates should have excellent communication skills, a professional appearance, strong attention to detail, and the ability to remain calm and organized during high-level service. Knowledge of sake, wine, Japanese cuisine, and sushi terminology is highly preferred. Candidates must be comfortable learning detailed menu information and communicating confidently with guests. The server plays an important role in connecting the chef and the guest and should help create a seamless, personalized, and memorable dining experience.
