- A server is responsible for taking food and drink orders from guests.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Greet and interact with customers.
- Check and maintain quality and speed of service.
- Suggest specialty drinks and food items.
- Stay updated on current menu items and pricing.
- Communicate with team members throughout the shift.
- Check IDs before serving alcoholic drinks.
- Maintain a clean workspace and complete all required sidework.
Qualifications:
- Must be able to perform each essential duty to a satisfactory level.
- Education and/or
Experience:
o 2 years secondary education and must be of legal age per local law.
Computer Skills:
o Ability to operate POS register system. o Ability to understand Microsoft Windows.
Language Skills:
o Ability to read and comprehend simple English instructions, short correspondence, and memos. o Ability to write simple correspondence. o Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers and fellow team members.
Mathematical Skills:
o Ability to add, subtract, multiple, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. o Ability to compute rate and percent.
Reasoning Ability:
o Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one-or-two step instructions. o Ability to efficiently work with people.
Other Skills and Abilities:
o Must have excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills. o Must have a positive, courteous, energetic, and enthusiastic personality. These traits should be used in all aspects of customer and coworker interactions.
Physical Demands:
o While performing the duties of this job a bartender is regularly required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. o Reach with hands and arms to move items up to 50 pounds. o Talk and hear. o Specific vision abilities required by this job include distance vision and depth perception. o
