The Snack Shack Cashier / Beer Server is a front-line ambassador for Nordic Valley's food service, delivering fast, friendly, and accurate service to every guest. This role processes orders and payments and helps prepare and serve prepackaged food and beverages, including beer. Key Responsibilities:
Greet every guest warmly and create a positive service experience. Accurately take food and beverage orders and enter them into the point-of-sale (POS) system. Process all payment transactions (cash, credit card, and other methods) efficiently and responsibly; count and balance the cash drawer at the start and end of each shift. Serve beer in full compliance with Utah law and the Nordic Valley Responsible Alcohol Service Plan, including verifying guest age and identification and refusing service when required. Answer guest questions about menu items, including ingredients and potential allergens. Keep the counter, condiment stations, and guest areas clean, stocked, and organized throughout each shift. Monitor inventory and notify management when supplies are running low. Assist with opening and closing procedures, including cleaning equipment and service areas. Support event functions as needed. Collaborate with team members, communicate effectively, and help maintain a positive work environment. Follow supervisor direction and perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Qualifications Required Must be at least 21 years of age (required to sell and serve alcohol in Utah). Must hold, or obtain before the first shift serving alcohol, a current Utah DABS-approved alcohol server training/education certification (e.g., an on-premise seller-server certificate). Certification must be kept current per state renewal requirements. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to perform basic math quickly and accurately. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. Reliable and punctual, with a flexible schedule that includes weekends and holidays, especially during peak ski season. Preferred Previous cash-handling or guest-service experience. Experience in a similar food-and-beverage or resort role. Physical Requirements The following are essential functions that must be performed with or without reasonable accommodation: Stand and move for extended periods.
