Job Description
Position Summary The Server is responsible for delivering exceptional hospitality by providing attentive, personalized service throughout the guest dining experience. Servers are expected to anticipate guest needs, maintain strong menu knowledge, execute service standards with precision, and create memorable experiences that reflect the culture and service philosophy of Jula's on the Potomac. Essential Responsibilities Guest Service & Hospitality Deliver exceptional guest service through attentive, personalized hospitality.
- Greet guests promptly and guide them through the dining experience.
- Anticipate guest needs and respond professionally to requests and concerns.
- Create memorable dining experiences that encourage guest loyalty and repeat visits. Food & Beverage Knowledge Maintain comprehensive knowledge of food, beverage, wine, cocktail, and dessert offerings.
- Make informed recommendations and assist guests with menu selections.
- Communicate ingredients, preparation methods, and allergy information accurately.
- Promote featured menu items, specials, and beverage pairings. Service Execution & Table Management Accurately enter orders using Toast POS.
- Coordinate service timing with kitchen and bar teams to ensure proper pacing.
- Monitor tables throughout the meal and anticipate service needs before being asked.
- Deliver food and beverages according to established presentation and service standards.
- Process guest payments accurately and efficiently. Dining Room Operations Maintain organized sections and ensure tables are clean, properly set, and presentation-ready.
- Complete assigned side work and maintain service stations throughout the shift.
- Assist with resetting tables and supporting overall dining room flow.
- Follow established procedures for reservations, special requests, and guest accommodations. Teamwork & Communication Communicate effectively with hosts, bartenders, food runners, kitchen staff, and managers.
- Support fellow team members to ensure seamless guest experiences.
- Participate in pre-shift meetings and ongoing training initiatives. Safety & Compliance Follow food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety standards.
- Adhere to responsible alcohol service practices and company policies.
- Report guest concerns, operational issues, and safety hazards promptly.
