Responsibilities Greet guests warmly upon arrival and assist with seating arrangements or reservations using OpenTable or similar reservation systems. Take accurate food and beverage orders, utilizing POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS to process transactions swiftly and correctly. Serve food and drinks promptly while maintaining high standards of presentation and quality, including cocktail service and wine pairings. Provide knowledgeable recommendations on menu items, spirits, wine selections, and daily specials to enhance guest experience through upselling techniques. Ensure food safety and sanitation protocols are followed during food handling, serving, bussing, and cleaning duties. Manage cash handling efficiently by processing payments accurately and balancing registers at shift end. Maintain cleanliness of tables, dining areas, and service stations while supporting kitchen staff with basic food preparation or bussing when needed. Foster positive guest relations by addressing questions or concerns promptly, ensuring each guest feels valued and appreciated. Experience Previous food service experience in a restaurant setting is highly preferred; fine dining experience is a plus. Familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS is advantageous; experience with OpenTable is beneficial. Strong knowledge of spirits, wine, cocktails, and beverage service enhances guest interactions. Demonstrated ability in customer service roles with excellent communication skills and a friendly demeanor. Ability to handle cash transactions accurately while maintaining attention to detail in a fast-paced environment. Experience in food handling, sanitation standards, and basic math skills necessary for order processing and billing. Prior host/hostess or serving experience that showcases hospitality skills and the ability to manage multiple tables efficiently.
