Duties Serve nutritious and appealing meals to residents during the evening shift with professionalism and warmth Assist with food presentation, plating, and ensuring dietary requirements are met accurately Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in the dining area, including bussing tables and cleaning utensils Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently during meal preparation and service Adhere strictly to food safety protocols, including proper handling, storage, and sanitation procedures Support dietary staff by assisting with basic food production and meal assembly as needed Ensure compliance with workplace safety regulations and use of personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times Requirements Previous experience in food service, culinary arts, or the food industry preferred; experience in assisted living or nursing home settings is a plus Knowledge of food handling, sanitation, and safe lifting practices; ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary Strong time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently during busy meal periods Excellent customer service skills with a friendly, positive attitude toward residents and team members Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment Basic math skills for accurate portioning and order processing Familiarity with operating kitchen equipment safely and adhering to dietary requirements for special diets or medical needs CPR certification is desirable; willingness to obtain if not already certified This role offers an engaging environment where your efforts directly enhance residents' quality of life.
