Host/Back Server River Lodge Paso Paso Robles, CA 93446 $16.90 an hour - Part-time $16.90 an hour - Part-time The Host/Backserver is responsible for greeting guests at the entrance, seating according to reservation and service flow needs. Updating Opentable, answering the phone, and providing support with service including running food, bussing and assisting with side work in both the restaurant and pool area. Responsibilities and Duties Shows up for work on -time in proper uniform that meets dress code standards Ensures the dining room is clean, neat and organized at all times, including tables, floors, setting and table blooms Checks the temperature and adjusts: heat, fan, a/c, fireplace, window opening/closing, umbrellas, outdoor heater etc for guest comfort. Greets guests at the entrance immediately and professionally Manages opentable during shift Seats guests or provides wait time and options of places to wait Accurately describe the property history and hotel Maintains table appearance by assisting with bussing Assist with polishing glassware and silverware Assist with folding and rolling linens and napkins Can safely and swiftly carry a tray of drinks and properly serve them without having to put tray on table, uses a tray to buss glassware Maintains a safe and sanitary work environment Communicates with servers regarding guests who have been sat, including notes and special occasions. Communicates with management regarding guest issues, reservation issues, or problems with service. Communicates with guests regarding updates on wait times, reservations. availability changes, etc. Maintains cleanliness and organization of host stand and surrounding area during service Monitors and observes guest's dining experience. Alerts servers or manager to any potential issues. Runs food as needed, especially for large parties and during peak hours Maintains restaurant/pool bathroom cleanliness throughout shift, assists with pool appearance and cleanliness Reports all equipment problems and maintenance issues to manager Checks menus for cleanliness and asks manager for restock if needed BEFORE the start of service Qualifications/Skills Needed Previous applicable hospitality experience Demonstrates the ability to interact with the public and co-workers in a friendly enthusiastic and outgoing manner Requires the ability to speak, read and comprehend instructions. Strong listening and oral communication skills Must be able to work weekends & Holidays Must be at least 18 years old to serve alcohol Ability to use Opentable/reservations systems accurately Physical Requirements Must be able to stand, reach, stoop, bend, lift, and clean during various activities throughout shift. Prolonged standing and movement As needed, must be able to lift products or supplies up to 25 lbs.
