Job Description

Overview We are seeking a proactive and skilled Hotel Maintenance Engineer to ensure the seamless operation and upkeep of our hotel facilities. This energetic role involves maintaining the physical integrity of the property, troubleshooting technical issues, and implementing repairs that enhance guest comfort and safety. The ideal candidate will bring a strong mechanical and electrical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and a passion for delivering exceptional facilities maintenance. Responsibilities Conduct routine inspections of all hotel systems including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical equipment to identify potential issues before they escalate. Perform repairs and preventative maintenance on building infrastructure, ensuring compliance with safety standards and manufacturer guidelines. Operate and troubleshoot programmable logic controllers (PLCs) to manage complex building automation systems effectively. Use schematics, electrical diagrams, and technical manuals to diagnose problems accurately and implement solutions efficiently. Carry out welding, residential painting, and other mechanical tasks to maintain the property's aesthetic and functional quality. Supervise maintenance projects, coordinate with contractors when necessary, and oversee team members to ensure timely completion of tasks. Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities using Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) for tracking work orders, parts inventory, and service history. Ensure all safety protocols are followed during maintenance activities; utilize tools such as ohmmeters and multimeters for electrical testing. Provide excellent customer service by responding promptly to guest requests related to facilities issues and ensuring minimal disruption. Lead by example in fostering a culture of safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement within the facilities maintenance team. Requirements Proven experience in facilities maintenance or a similar role within hospitality or residential settings. Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in welding, plumbing, electrical systems, and building repairs. Familiarity with schematics, technical manuals, and troubleshooting electrical components using tools like ohmmeters. Experience working with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and building automation systems is highly desirable. Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams accurately. Excellent communication skills in English; capable of supervising teams effectively while providing clear instructions. Previous supervisory or leadership experience in maintenance or manufacturing environments preferred. Knowledge of CMMS software for scheduling work orders, inventory management, and reporting is advantageous. Ability to perform physically demanding tasks including lifting heavy equipment or materials as needed. Valid certifications in electrical work or facilities maintenance are a plus; ongoing training in new technologies is encouraged.
