Job Description
Peddler's Village is in search of a hands-on HR Generalist to join our team! The HR Generalist supports daily human resources operations within a faced-paced, hospitality environment, ensuring a positive team member experience while maintaining compliance with labor laws and company policies.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Recruitment, Onboarding & Offboarding Manage full-cycle recruiting for hospitality operations. Support seasonal and high-volume hiring needs. Design, implement, and continuously improve a comprehensive new-hire orientation program that equips team members with essential knowledge, tools, and resources for a successful start. Coordinate onboarding sessions, develop engaging training materials, collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with organizational goals and culture. Manage exit procedures such as final documentation, benefits termination, and exit interviews. Team Member Relations Serve as a point of contact for team members with questions about policies, benefits, procedures, and resolving routine HR issues. Support conflict resolution and promote a positive and inclusive workplace culture. Organize engagement initiatives, recognition programs, and team member events. Employee Records and Data management Maintain personnel files and HRIS (ADP Workforce Now), updating employee information, and ensuring data accuracy. This also includes document control and confidentiality. Payroll, Benefits and LOA administration Process weekly payroll. Daily benefits administration including team member inquiries, enrollments and monthly premium invoicing and reconciliation. Maintain accurate benefits data within the HRIS and ensure timely and accurate payroll deductions. Manage LOA requests, overseeing the end-to-end leave lifecycle, from initial request and eligibility determination to successful return-to-work coordination. Manage Workers' Compensation claims from initial report through final resolution, ensuring timely processing, accurate documentation, and compliance with all applicable laws and company policies. Responsibilities include coordinating with injured employees, healthcare providers, insurance carriers, and legal representatives; and maintaining detailed records to support effective case management and risk mitigation.Education and Experience:
3-5 years of HR Generalist experience, preferably in the hospitality industry. Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Hospitality Management, or related field preferred.Certifications:
PHR or SPHR certification is a plus. Proficiency with HRIS systems (ADP Workforce Now), Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Knowledge of labor laws and HR best practices. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, occasionally working non-traditional hours as needed.
