Southeast Orthopedic Specialists is growing! Come grow with us! We are seeking a Call Center Care Coordinator - Worker's Compensation Specialist to join our team in Jacksonville, FL! You will enjoy working in office with a team that collaborates by telephone and email with adjusters and nurse case managers to coordinate patient care for injured workers, obtain authorizations, process documentation, and maintain ongoing administrative support, ensuring accurate and complete documentation. The Call Center Care Coordinator- Workers Compensation Specialist communicates directly with employers, adjusters, nurse case managers and carriers to register, schedule and secure prior authorization for services for our patients who were injured at work. Care coordination is completed by phone and email with our referral sources
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Effective multi-tasking skills in a high-volume, fast-paced, team-oriented environment. Working knowledge of computer applications to successfully navigate practice management systems. Provides consistent high-quality verbal and written communication with providers, adjusters, case managers and patients. Completes administrative review of received medical records and treatment notes to ensure completion, accuracy, and program compliance. Maintains all records and reports with accuracy. Obtain and process authorizations for continued care of the injured worker.
REQUIREMENTS
1- year experience working with Workers' Compensation cases Athena experience is always preferred. High school diploma/GED. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Experience working with Microsoft applications including Word. Excel, and Outlook. Ability to work productively in a fast-paced environment. Ability to learn and retain company policies, state and federal policies, and workflow processes.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES
Knowledge of worker's compensation Knowledge of physician group operation and clinic policies. Knowledge of authorization and verification processes. Skill in the billing authorization process. Skill in obtaining necessary approvals for Worker's Compensation to reduce denials. Ability to proficiently use arithmetic calculations in data collection and interpretation. Ability to use interpersonal skills to establish/maintain cooperative relationships with patients, families, physicians, management, and other staff. Ability to communicate openly and honestly with management and staff.
