Job Description
The Workers' Compensation team is evolving here at DMOS to better serve our patients needs when it comes to workplace orthopaedic injuries! As we have continued to grow, specialization of tasks and duties has been highlighted as an opportunity to streamline services for injured workers, insurance adjusters, and physicians. To support our team, we are seeking a Medical-Legal Specialist. In this role you will act as an in-house company liaison with legal entities, attorneys, insurance adjusters, and medical-legal contacts. This is a full-time (40-hr) position located at our West Des Moines office with hours 8am-5pm (Monday - Friday). Here's What You Can Expect Coordinate billing for services rendered, invoice charges with billing team and external stakeholders on fee collection and scheduling of Workers' Comp prepayment services Obtain necessary stakeholder details including contact information, claim number, accepted conditions, billing address, and date of injury Gather all pertinent and necessary information for Physician to complete desired service being rendered What We're Looking For Minimum of 1 to 2 years of prior experience working with workers' compensation, medical-legal matters, or civil referral sources (attorneys, insurers, adjusters, TPAs) within healthcare administration Strong organizational, multi-tasking and process-driven skills Ability to communicate (verbally and written) in a professional manner with individuals with varying backgrounds, bi-lingual is a plus.
