02 per hour, depending on experience Position Summary The Preadmit & Eligibility Benefits Specialist works closely with physicians' offices, insurance companies, internal departments, and patients to ensure that all demographic information is gathered, insurance benefits are verified, all third-party and contractual reporting requirements are met, all necessary authorization and/or referrals are in place, and all financial data is complete. Other responsibilities may include performing medical billing functions to third-party payers and patients; reviewing paper and electronic claims to verify accuracy and completeness of charges; verifying
ICD-9/ICD-10
coding, post payments, and making adjustments; and researching and resolving minor patient complaints. Qualifications Education High school diploma
  • required Associate degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, or other related field, preferred. Experience Minimum 2 years of experience in a health care environment and familiarity with patient registration processes and insurance billing requirements
  • required Computer experience, good verbal communication skills, and an understanding of the current trends in insurance billing and other third-party reimbursement issues also required.
