This pivotal role is responsible for managing the end-to-end payroll processes, overseeing benefits administration, leading new-hire onboarding efforts, and ensuring compliance with all relevant employment taxes, laws and regulations. The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of the construction industry, industry-specific payroll systems (Spectrum), Union payroll & reporting, multi-state operations, benefits programs, and HRIS platforms, contributing to the organization's commitment to employee satisfaction and operational excellence. You're looking for stability as well as new challenges and career growth opportunities: What begins leading payroll for one business unit may evolve into managing payroll for multiple business groups once you've proven yourself through consistency, excellence, and the ability to work independently with little or no supervision. Responsibilities Responsible for the accurate preparation, documentation, distribution and reconciliation of payroll and the administration of the payroll system. Maintains up-to-date knowledge of city, state, provincial, local, and federal legislation affecting payroll; understands and follows applicable provisions. Work with Project Superintendents & Project Managers to collect field time each week Weekly time entry & payroll processing using Spectrum software Manage all new hire onboarding duties Serve as primary contact for all payroll, onboarding, and benefit administrative tasks Responds to and resolves any inquiries regarding paychecks or payroll reporting. Ensures payroll issues are escalated and resolved promptly.
Handle all tax payments:
Weekly, quarterly, and yearly Yearly processing of all W2 and 1095c Continuous payroll process improvement, system efficiency and effectiveness Lead Union Reporting, serve as primary for any Union audits Eager to grow and expand with possible growth into supporting multiple companies Requirements Experienced in construction industry payroll, highly preferred Experienced in running Union payroll, managing Union reporting/audits, highly preferred Experienced in New Hire Onboarding, highly preferred Experienced managing benefit administration, highly preferred Experienced in payroll tax fillings (weekly, quarterly, annually), highly preferred Experienced in payroll and onboarding software & systems, highly preferred Ability & interest in career growth & advancement, required Excellent history of job stay (4-year average) and consistent promotion, required Positive attitude, eager to learn, master, and improve personally & professionally Excellent oral and written professional communication skills, both on and off the job High degree of accuracy, attention to detail, and confidentiality Excellent analytical, problem-solving skills A drive to establish & continuously improve processes & efficiency Detail oriented and dependability are of utmost importance Effective organizational, stress and time management skills Demonstrates a sense of urgency and ability to meet deadlines Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal Ability to be resourceful, work with a team and independently Willingness to establish and maintain effective working relationships Bachelor's Degree preferredPay:
