Team members can expect a culture that values reliability, collaboration, and high-quality results. Role Description The Benefits Specialist is a full-time, on-site role based in Suffolk, VA. This position is responsible for administering employee benefits programs, including health, dental, vision, life insurance, retirement plans, and related offerings. Day-to-day tasks include processing enrollments and changes, responding to employee questions, coordinating with insurance carriers, and ensuring compliance with applicable laws and company policies. The Benefits Specialist will manage leave-of-absence requests, including those related to the U.S. Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), and maintain accurate benefit records and documentation. The role also involves preparing benefits communications, supporting orientation and open enrollment activities, and collaborating with management to improve benefits processes and employee experience. This role requires high attention to detail, strict data confidentiality, strong financial reconciliation skills and clear communication. Wage Range $60,000 - $85,000 (based on experience) Responsibilities Benefits Administration and Insurance skills to manage enrollment, changes, claims escalation, and vendor coordination.

Pre-employment:

DMV/MVR, E-Verify, safety training setup, review new hire paperwork with employee and staff , enter and update new hire information in Spectrum(accounting Software) and insurance platforms.

Plan Administration:

Manage daily enrollment, life event changes, and terminations for health, dental, vision, life & disability, legal resources, HSA/FSA, and retirement plans and update insurance platforms and in Spectrum.

Open Enrollment:

Coordinate annual enrollment periods, update insurance platforms and update employee information in Spectrum.

Billing & Reconciliation:

Audit and reconcile carrier invoices against payroll data to resolve discrepancies.

Compliance:

Ensure plans adhere to federal and state regulations (ERISA, ACA, FMLA, and COBRA).

Employee Support:

Serve as a primary contact for staff and employee questions regarding eligibility, claims assistance, and leave options. DMV and EZ Pass Updates and processing monthly registrations, plates, traffic violations, tickets, and decals. Company Cellphone-Issuance, filing claims, and verifying the invoice monthly. Other duties as assigned.

Experience:

Minimum 2 to 5 years of hands-on benefits administration Bridgeman Civil offers a highly competitive employment package.
