Full Job Description Job Summary:

The starting salary for this position will be set competitively and commensurate with the candidate's qualifications and experience . The California State Teachers' Retirement System is seeking to fill its BenefitConnect Director position. Under the administrative direction of the Chief Technology Officer (CTO), the BenefitConnect Director, provides leadership and sets policy for BenefitConnect, CalSTRS' core pension administration platform. This role sets clear policy direction for BenefitConnect as a long-term enterprise platform that supports the delivery of retirement, disability, survivor benefits, and other critical member services. Responsibilities Ability to advise executive leadership on recommended system enhancements, evaluating risks, determining approaches and balancing system stability with ongoing improvements. Experience operationalizing technology platforms utilizing a structured approach to integration, user adoption and ongoing performance measurements. Skilled at navigating organizational shifts and driving transition through leadership and effective change management strategies. Ability to present information to a board governing body and external consultants dealing with significant matters related to CalSTRS' core pension administration platform to ensure informed decision-making. Ability to serve as a policy advisor and internal consultant on matters related to CalSTRS' strategic plan, risk management and fiduciary responsibilities.
