Job Description
We are looking for an experienced Senior Risk Manager to support a Milwaukee, Wisconsin organization with strategic oversight of insurance and claims programs. This position focuses on strengthening risk mitigation efforts, guiding benefits-related insurance activities, and ensuring sound administration of workers' compensation matters. The ideal candidate brings strong judgment, vendor management capability, and a deep understanding of insurance coverage, claims handling, and regulatory considerations.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the evaluation and management of organizational risk related to insurance, employee benefits, and workers' compensation exposure.
- Oversee claim activity from initial reporting through resolution, ensuring timely follow-up, accurate documentation, and effective communication with stakeholders.
- Partner with insurance carriers, brokers, and third-party administrators to maintain appropriate coverage and service performance.
- Review policies and coverage structures to identify gaps, recommend improvements, and align protection strategies with business needs.
- Monitor workers' compensation cases and support compliant handling in accordance with applicable legal and regulatory standards.
- Analyze loss trends, claim outcomes, and cost drivers to inform risk reduction strategies and operational decisions.
- Advise leadership on risk-related issues, coverage concerns, and opportunities to strengthen internal controls.
- Support the development and refinement of procedures that improve claim administration and overall insurance program effectiveness.
