The Executive Functioning Specialist provides individualized, strengths-based support to children and adolescents who experience challenges with executive functioning skills, including organization, planning, time management, emotional regulation, flexible thinking, task initiation, working memory, and self-monitoring. Working collaboratively with families, schools, therapists, and other providers, the Executive Functioning Specialist helps children develop practical strategies that increase independence, confidence, and success across home, school, and everyday life. This is a unique opportunity to play a foundational role in building and shaping a growing executive functioning program within a collaborative child mental health practice. The ideal candidate will have experience providing executive functioning support and enjoy the opportunity to help develop programming, systems, and resources as this area of the practice expands.

Flexible weekday hours, including afternoon and evening availability Key Responsibilities Executive Functioning Support Provide individualized executive functioning support for elementary-aged children, middle school students, and adolescents. Develop personalized strategies based on each child's individual needs, strengths, and goals. Support clients in developing skills related to: Organization and planning Prioritization and time management Task initiation and follow-through Working memory Flexible thinking and problem-solving Emotional regulation Self-monitoring Self-advocacy Help clients apply executive functioning strategies across home, school, and daily life to promote greater independence and confidence. Adapt strategies based on each child's learning profile and individual needs. Parent & Family Collaboration Partner closely with parents and caregivers to support skill development outside of sessions. Provide education, resources, and practical tools that help families reinforce executive functioning strategies at home. Communicate regularly with families regarding progress, goals, and recommendations. Collaboration Collaborate with therapists, schools, educational teams, and other providers when appropriate. Participate in case consultation and interdisciplinary collaboration within the practice. Maintain timely documentation and client records in accordance with practice policies. Program Development Help develop and expand executive functioning services within Child Therapy Boston. Contribute ideas for workshops, parent education, groups, and community programming. Participate in community outreach and professional networking opportunities as the program grows. Collaborate with leadership to develop resources, systems, and best practices for the executive functioning program. Qualifications The ideal candidate is passionate about helping children develop lifelong executive function skills through evidence-based, relationship-centered support.
Some preferred qualifications include:
Experience working as an Executive Functioning Coach, Executive Functioning Specialist, or in a similar executive functioning support role strongly preferred. Experience developing and implementing individualized executive functioning strategies and plans for children and adolescents. Experience working with elementary-aged children, adolescents, and families. Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology, Occupational Therapy, School Psychology, Counseling, Social Work, Special Education, Psychology, Education, or a related field preferred. Strong understanding of executive functioning development and evidence-based strategies. Experience supporting children with ADHD, executive functioning challenges, anxiety, learning differences, autism spectrum disorder, traumatic brain injury, or other neurodevelopmental differences. Experience collaborating with parents, caregivers, schools, and other providers. Excellent communication, organization, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team. Creative, flexible, and strengths-based approach to supporting children and families.
