Department:
Workforce Development - Instructional Job Summary The Center for Workforce Development classroom aide is assigned to assist Instructors and Students in an Opportunity Programs for Adults with Intellectual or Developmental Disability (IDD). Aides will be assigned to programs based on previous education or life experience applicable to the Opportunity Program's curriculum and skills content, as well as cohort size and need. Current programs include the Culinary Opportunity Program I and II and the Horticulture Opportunity Program. Qualifications - Education Related experience and certification in associated area, if applicable. For example, Classroom Aides for the Culinary program will need prior culinary experience and Serv-Safe Food Handler certification. Qualifications - Experience Experience supporting students preferable. Qualifications - Skills Excellent oral communication skills. Ability to convey information in simple language required. Good organizational skills. Attention to detail. Customer service focused. Previous experience in assisting students and/or customers in one-on-one or group settings. Reliable - Classroom Aides are expected to be present at all scheduled sessions, or alert WFD and the instructor in the event of an unavoidable absence. Basic computer knowledge. Light lifting - up to 20 lbs. Work Hours Class schedules may include day, evening or weekend schedules. Please specify availability.
