JOB GENERAL POSITION DESCRIPTION
The Inclusion Specialist provides on-site assistance to participants of all ages with physical, developmental or behavioral needs as they integrate into general Lake Oswego Park & Recreation Department summer camps and programs. Duties include adapting activities, following inclusion or behavior plans, maintaining a safe environment and promoting a participant's success in a program. Summer Camps run June 15-August 21
Shifts Vary:
Monday through Friday, 8:30a-4p, 8:30a-12p, or 12:30a-4pHours are determined by camp schedules and on-call availability
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Consult with Recreation Supervisor to get information regarding participant before start of classesCall family/participant ahead of time to talk about meeting on the first day of scheduled activity Provide support to participant during class. May include fitness programs (i.e. swimming, hiking, aerobics, etc.) Make adaptations to ensure participant's successful inclusion into class Demonstrate a positive and supportive attitude towards people with disabilities Able to work independently Inclusion specialists do NOT provide transportation, toileting or transferring of participants Report all accidents/incidents to Recreation Supervisor immediately Maintains records of activity participation Maintain confidentiality at all times Performs other job related duties as assigned
SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION
Licenses, Certificates and Other Requirements Valid Oregon Driver's License, and good driving record.

Current First Aid & CPR certification, requiredExperience working with students with exceptionalities or comparable training
