Job Summary Right o' Way Consultants Inc. is seeking a dependable, organized, and detail-oriented individual to join our team and train as a Permit Specialist providing Developers and Contractors Right-of-Way, Cranes, Utility , and Building permitting coordination throughout South Florida. Prior permitting experience is not required . We are more interested in finding someone who is reliable , professional , comfortable with computers, learns quickly, and has excellent attention to detail and follow-through.

Typically 8:30 am - 1:30 pm. Generally limited to 25 hours per week unless additional hours are approved
Starting Pay:
$18-$20/hour during an approximately 3-month paid training period

This position does not currently include employer-sponsored benefits What You'll Do Our Permit Specialists help keep construction projects moving through the permitting process. You will receive hands-on training and gradually take responsibility for your own assigned projects.
You will be trained to:
Prepare and submit permit applications and supporting documentation Navigate multiple municipal and agency permitting portals Track permit applications, reviews, comments, corrections, approvals, payments, inspections,renewals, and expiration dates Coordinate construction and Right-of-Way permitting requirements Communicate professionally with municipalities, contractors, clients, engineers, and project team members Follow up with reviewing agencies and other parties to keep projects moving Review permit comments and identify the next action required Monitor deadlines and follow up on outstanding requirements Maintain accurate project records, correspondence, and status information Assist with permit extensions, renewals, inspections, and project close-outs Manage multiple active projects and prioritize time-sensitive assignments Training & Career Growth The position begins with an approximately three-month paid training period. Employees who successfully complete training and demonstrate the knowledge, accuracy, reliability,productivity, and independence required to manage assigned permitting responsibilities may advance to Permit Specialist I at $25.00/hour. Additional advancement and compensation opportunities and commissions are available as employees develop greater permitting expertise, independence, project-management ability, and responsibility. Advancement is based on demonstrated competency and performance and is not automatic based solely on length of employment. About the Opportunity This position is intended for someone interested in developing a long-term career, rather than simply a temporary part-time administrative job. Our work is fast-paced and deadline-driven. Priorities can change based on municipal reviews, contractor schedules, inspections, and permit requirements. We work collaboratively, but Permit Specialists are expected to develop ownership of their assigned projects and consistently follow through on outstanding items.
