Ability Inclusion Services is seeking a Creative Arts & Community Engagement Specialist to lead meaningful, inclusive programming for adults with intellectual, physical, and developmental disabilities. This role is focused on using the arts as a tool for empowerment, self-expression, and social connection , while also supporting community integration through carefully curated outings and experiences. Key Responsibilities Creative Arts Programming Design and lead a wide variety of inclusive art classes using diverse mediums (painting, sculpture, collage, crafts, etc.) Develop adaptive art techniques tailored to the abilities and needs of participants Foster creativity, confidence, and self-expression in a safe and supportive studio-style setting Plan and coordinate art shows or community exhibits to showcase participant work Collaborative Program Planning Work with Program Leads, Coordinators, and DSP-Crew Leaders to build weekly class schedules and personalized lesson plans Ensure alignment with individual goals, interests, and skill-building opportunities Community Engagement (Supportive Role) Plan or assist with off-site community activities that enhance exposure to local arts, culture, and recreation Provide coverage for transportation and driving duties as needed Relationship Building & Support Build genuine relationships with participants, creating an atmosphere of trust, dignity, and inclusion Encourage active participation and adapt activities to meet a range of engagement styles Basic client support needs (feeding and restroom assistance) Documentation & Special Projects Maintain records of attendance and participation Assist with special projects and organizational initiatives related to program enrichment Qualifications Background in art instruction, recreational therapy, or creative facilitation strongly preferred Ability to adapt art-based curriculum for individuals with varying abilities Strong interpersonal and communication skills Compassionate, patient, and dependable Creative thinker with a collaborative mindset Requirements At least 21 years old High school diploma or GED required Valid Utah driver's license with a clean driving record Able to drive a transit van Must pass a background check Physically capable of lifting 50 pounds or more, standing for long periods, kneeling, and bending Strong attendance record and stable employment history Benefits Health Insurance Dental & Vision Insurance Life Insurance Roth IRA with 3%
