Spanish Fort, AL Office SUMMARY Perform administrative duties related to the operations of the human resource department.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Processes required paperwork for employee transfers, changes in job classification, merit increases, and other related employment matters. May assist with preparation of human resource reports such as new hire reporting, sick leave reports, etc. Maintain employee HR/Payroll databases - including data entry and verification of entered information Assist with new hire processing Setup and maintain employee files either physically, electronically or both Reach out to the field as needed regarding HR/Payroll information Assist in review of per diem documentation Assist in tracking employee statuses, identifying missing information, and requesting updates from the field Submit verifications of employment, unemployment, and other similar requests Communicate and track random drug screen selections monthly Answering HR calls and assisting in routine inquiries, routing other calls appropriately Perform other related duties as assigned

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES & ATTRIBUTES
Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines. Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software. Knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations preferred Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization's HRIS and talent management systems. Ability to communicate bilingually in English and Spanish preferred
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Highschool Diploma or Equivalent One or more year's related experience and/or training preferred Experience within the Maritime industry preferred
WORKING CONDITIONS / PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Work is conducted indoors in an office environment Must be able to sit for prolonged periods of time at a desk; must be able to view computer screen for prolonged periods of time; must be able to enter data using keyboard accurately and efficiently Must be able to communicate effectively via phone or email with personnel at remote job sites Must be able to lift, carry, push, pull up to 15 pounds at times on an infrequent basis. May be required to climb stairs
