Job Description
Our Human Resources Department is seeking a resourceful, enthusiastic Human Resources Assistant to contribute to our team at our beautiful Guerneville location. Your primary focus will be to assist with recruiting, leave of absence, medical workers compensation documentation and tracking. You'll also have the opportunity to assist and collaborate with a supportive team of co-workers in taking on projects within the department. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional analytical problem-solving skills, with the ability to see a project through to completion. A strong knowledge and desire to stay up to date with current labor laws and leave of absence laws are essential to this role. Excellent computer skills, including MS Word, Outlook and Excel is also required. Experience in UKG is preferrable. We are considering candidates with a minimum of 2 years' experience preferably in HR. A bachelor's degree with a Human Resources concentration is preferred. This is an hourly, full-time position at 40 hours/week on-site in our Guerneville office. The hourly pay scale is $25.53-$34.47 depending on experience.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist HR Representative in reviewing resumes, scheduling interviews, reference checking, and setting up pre-employment testing.
- Conduct new employee orientations and work with new employee's manager and Health and Environmental Safety Department.
- Enter new employee information into UKG to streamline new employee checklist.
- Assist HR Manager to administer leave of absence policies including meeting with employees, calendar dates, mail out required paperwork/forms, and informing all appropriate personnel of leave of absence.
- Assist HR Manager with Workers Compensation administration including scheduling appointments, tracking care, and following up with the appropriate personnel.
- Create flyers and company announcements and post on company bulletin boards as needed.
- Assist team members with departmental administrative projects as needed.
- Assist with employee appreciation activities and events.
