What You'll Do As a Transit Security Officer, you'll maintain a professional and visible security presence while helping create a safe environment for employees, passengers, visitors, and the public.

Responsibilities may include:

Maintain a highly visible security presence in assigned areas Conduct routine foot patrols and security inspections Monitor facilities, transit areas, entrances, exits, and surrounding property Observe and report suspicious activity, safety concerns, and security incidents Assist with access control and restricted areas as assigned Respond appropriately to incidents, emergencies, and calls for assistance Assist with crowd management and maintaining orderly public areas Use professional communication and de-escalation techniques when appropriate Provide directions and professional customer service to members of the public Complete accurate incident reports and daily activity logs Communicate incidents and security concerns to appropriate personnel Follow established security procedures and post orders Minimum Qualifications Applicants must: Have a valid California Guard Card Have a High School Diploma or GED Have a valid Baton Permit preferred Have a valid Pepper Spray/OC Permit Have reliable transportation Be able to pass required background and pre-employment screening Communicate effectively verbally and in writing Be comfortable working in a public-facing environment Be able to remain professional and composed during security incidents Meet all applicable licensing and certification requirements for the position What We're Looking For Successful candidates will demonstrate: Strong situational awareness Professionalism and dependability Strong customer service and communication skills Good judgment in fast-moving situations Ability to interact professionally with a diverse public Conflict-resolution and de-escalation skills Ability to follow established procedures Accurate observation and report-writing skills Previous experience in security, transit, public safety, customer service, military service, or law enforcement is a plus.
