HUMAN RESOURCES ASSISTANT

B1 GENERAL PURPOSE
Under general supervision, provide administrative and operational support to the Human Resources (HR) team. Maintain employee records and monitor attendance. Coordinate temporary staffing and onboarding activities. Facilitate employee engagement initiatives. Ensure compliance with company policies. Support HR programs such as uniform distribution, recognition events, and community campaigns. Serve as a resource for employees and answer general HR questions.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Maintain employee personnel files and related documentation, including recruiting records, employment verification, benefits information, and other required materials; track and follow-up on any missing documentation as needed
  • Assist the HR team with compliance efforts and audit preparation
  • Coordinate recruitment and onboarding of temporary employees in collaboration with approved contingent staffing agencies, based on location specific needs
  • Monitor and track attendance for temporary employees
  • Administer the employee uniform program
  • Respond to inquiries from employees or HR management team members
  • Support employee engagement initiatives and contribute to planning, recommending, and executing employee recognition or appreciation events

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Undergraduate degree and/or human resources course work preferred
  • 0 to 1 year of human resources experience
  • Certification and/or License - may be required during course of employment
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
  • Knowledge of and skill with Microsoft Office Suite and company computer systems
  • Knowledge of applicable federal and state employment laws
  • Able to discreetly handle sensitive/confidential employee information
  • Able to maintain confidentiality of information
  • Able to demonstrate a high degree of accuracy and thoroughness in executed tasks
  • Able to respond courteously and efficiently to inquiries, complaints, and requests
  • Able to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing
  • Able to interact positively and work effectively with others (interpersonal skills)
  • Able to multi-task and organize own work activities in a fast-paced environment
